Hachette Livre International (HLI) has a twofold aim of export and publishing. HLI distributes the Hachette Livre group’s entire backlist worldwide (except Belgium, Switzerland and Canada), as well as that of various third-party publishers. HLI promotes and distributes works from 170 imprints in 159 countries. Under its Édicef and Hatier International imprints, HLI publishes textbooks for programs in countries where school is taught in French, including sub-Saharan and North Africa. Its catalog covers all subjects from preschool to university-level education. In addition to its school publications, Édicef and Hatier International are developing young adult literature, extracurricular and reference collections.
