Hachette España: Marta Martínez succeeds José Manuel Gómez as Chairwoman & CEO. Javier Cazaña Strategy and Business Development Director

After a 44-year career at Groupe Anaya, José Manuel Gómez Rodríguez, Chairman & CEO of the Group, elected to retire last December. He was replaced by Marta Martínez, who became Chairwoman & CEO of Hachette España. Marta is a member of the International Executive Board.

Javier Cazaña has joined Hachette España as Strategy and Business Development Director. He is a member of the Executive Board for Spain.

Marta Martínez, who joined Hachette España in May 2019, was the CEO and Regional Director for Spain and Western Europe at Macmillan Education (Springer Nature Group) between 2012 and 2019. She worked for Orange between 2001 and 2012, first as Audience Revenues Sales Director / Head of Orange Portal, then as CEO of STARMEDIA. Between 1992 and 2001, she worked as the Advertising Director for GDM/Grupo Prisa until 1997, then for Grupo Zeta starting in 1998.

She holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from St. Louis University (Missouri, US) and a Master’s Degree in Commercial and Marketing Management from Instituto de Empresa (Madrid, Spain).

In 2016, Javier Cazaña became Strategy and Business Development Director at Macmillan, after holding different management positions at various educational publishing companies, such as Masson (Vivendi Universal), MediMedia MAP, Reed Elsevier and Nature Publishing Group.

He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering (ICAI) and a marketing degree (ICADE) from Comillas Pontifical University.
