Fabrice Bakhouche to replace Marie-Claire Wastiaux

Fabrice Bakhouche is appointed Deputy Secretary General and Deputy Chief Financial Officer of Hachette Livre, and will replace Marie-Claire Wastiaux as Secretary General and Chief Financial Officer when she retires on July 1st.
The duties of the General Secretary and CFO include :
•    Finance and accounting
•    Legal and risk management
•    Treasury
•    Audits
•    Compliance
•    Mergers and acquisitions

Fabrice Bakhouche, a graduate of Institut d’Etudes Politiques in Paris and of Ecole Nationale d’Administration, began his career working for the agency that manages the French State’s equity in private or state-controlled companies (2007-2011), and was subsequently appointed Deputy General manager of AFP, the French news agency. In 2012, he became advisor to the Prime Minister for the digital economy and in November 2014, was appointed Chief of Staff of France’s cabinet minister for Media and Culture. In July 2017, he joined Hachette Livre as Senior Vice President for Strategy, reporting to CEO Arnaud Nourry.
A graduate of Ecole Polytechnique, Marie-Claire Wastiaux joined Hachette Livre early in 2003. She has been Chief Financial Officer since 2006 and Secretary General since 2008.
